This is the first of my Chaos Space Marine squads that make up the core of my Word Bearers Force. They are lead by an Aspiring Champion who carries a Power Weapon still wet with blood. The squad carries an icon of Chaos Undivided, particularly important for the Word Bearers fluff. The squad is noticeably lighter I've found that the other, darker Marine Squad I've painted, mostly due to the stronger highlighting found in this squad. They are painted, from memory, with layers of watered down Red Gore, and highlighted with Blood Red mixed with Red Gore.
The Chaos Marine Squad carries a meltagun for some mobile support, and a flamer, to soften up a squad before assaulting. The squad is mostly built for assault, and so the power weapon and flamer may be largely useful.
